filosofia in Florence, just steps from Ponte Vecchio, welcomes you to our atelier on the second floor of Palazzo Acciaiuoli (Vicolo dell’Oro 1A).

A place of work, meeting, and discovery, where you can experience up close our clothing made entirely from Bamboo.

Today, this sensitivity has somewhat faded… but we want to reignite it.

WHERE WE ARE
We are near Ponte Vecchio, a place where the “thread of filo.sofia” intertwines with the history of the palace housing our showroom.
Palazzo Acciaiuoli was born in 1260, when the Acciaiuoli family—merchants of wool and spices—had their homes here. First intertwining: In this palace in 2022, we gave life to filo.sofia, a venture dedicated to bamboo clothing made in Tuscany.
You can access it from Borgo Santi Apostoli 9 and Vicolo dell’Oro 1A—the latter named for the ancient workshops of goldbeaters.
At one point in its evolution, the building hosted a prestigious hotel, with silk and goldsmith workshops on the ground floor.
Thus, a thread that continues to intertwine with our filo.sofia.
In 1944, unfortunately, the building was largely destroyed by wartime events. The Borgo Santi Apostoli side remains ancient, while the Vicolo dell’Oro side was completely rebuilt.
On the second floor are our offices and showroom, where we welcome buyers as well as anyone who wants to touch and try on filo.sofia clothing—because stories alone are never enough to describe the experience.
